Machinery & Equipment Rigging

Equipment inspection: The millwright inspects the machinery and equipment to ensure it is in good condition and suitable for rigging. 

Site preparation: The rigging area is prepared by cleaning, leveling, and securing the surface where the machinery and equipment will be moved. 

Selecting and preparing rigging equipment: The millwright selects the appropriate rigging equipment, such as cranes, hoists, slings, and shackles, and prepares it for use. 

Lifting and positioning: The machinery and equipment is lifted and positioned using the rigging equipment, taking care to maintain stability and balance. 

Transporting: The machinery and equipment is transported to its final location, taking care to avoid obstacles and potential hazards. 

Placing and securing: The machinery and equipment is placed and secured in its final location, using shimming and leveling techniques as necessary to ensure proper functioning and safety. 

Testing and commissioning: The machinery and equipment is tested and commissioned to ensure it meets operating specifications and all safety requirements. 

Rigging is a challenging and physically demanding task that requires a high level of skill, experience, and knowledge of safety regulations. Millwrights must be able to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining the highest level of safety and quality. The use of proper rigging equipment and techniques is essential to ensure the safe and successful movement of heavy machinery and equipment.
